The short version

We collect only what we need: your email for the waitlist, and what you choose to enter into the Stoep Link tool.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Your brand, logo, headshot, listings and plan are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.
When you press a button that asks Claude to write something, the text you gave it is sent to Anthropic in the United States to produce the answer.
You can ask us to show, fix or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

Stoep Link ("we", "us") makes an online tool that helps South African estate agents write listing posts, replies and matching graphics. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), Stoep Link is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, and also acts as its own Information Officer.

2. What we collect

Waitlist. Your email address and, only if you choose to answer, your role and what takes you the longest in your marketing. We collect it directly from you, and we also record that you ticked the box confirming you understood this policy, with the date and the version of the policy you saw.

What you enter into the tool. Your name, agency, phone number and suburbs; a sample of your own writing; your logo and headshot; listing details, brochures and photos; your content plan; and the messages you ask us to draft replies to. This can include other people's information, such as a seller's name or a buyer's enquiry. See section 7.

Technical information. Our hosting provider records basic request details, such as your IP address, the time and the page, in server logs. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

We do not ask for ID numbers, bank or card details, or health, religious or other special personal information, and you should not enter them.

3. Why we use it

You do not have to give us any of this, but without your email we cannot tell you when Stoep Link opens, and without the information the tool needs we cannot write your posts.

To tell you when Stoep Link opens and to decide what to build first (with your consent).
To run the tool and give you the posts, replies and graphics you ask for.
To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
To meet our legal obligations.

We do not use your information for anything else. The posts and replies are produced automatically by AI, but we do not use them to make decisions about you.

4. Where your work is saved

In the beta, your brand details, logo, headshot, listings, plan and captions are saved in your own browser on your own device. They are not stored on our servers, so they do not sync to other devices and are lost if you clear your browser data. Your headshot and the home photos used on graphics stay in your browser and are not sent to Claude.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information for us. We do not sell your information.

Anthropic (United States) provides Claude, the AI that writes your posts. When you press a write button, we send it the text you gave us and, if you upload a brochure or photo for us to read, those pages or images. Under the commercial terms we use, Anthropic may not train its models on this content. It may keep it for a limited time under its own terms. We do not keep a copy of it.
Vercel (United States) hosts the website and keeps server logs.
Formspree (United States) receives and stores what you enter on the waitlist form.
Google Fonts and Cloudflare deliver the fonts and a script for reading PDFs. When a page loads, they can see your IP address.

We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

When we start taking payments, they will be handled by PayFast. We will not see or store your card number, and we will update this policy first.

6. Sending information outside South Africa

The providers above are in the United States, so your information is processed outside South Africa. We only send what is needed, and we rely on your consent, on the transfer being needed to give you the service you asked for, and on our providers' contractual commitments to protect it. By joining the waitlist or using the tool you agree to this. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

7. Other people's information

If you enter information about other people, such as sellers, buyers or colleagues, you are responsible for having the right to use it. Only enter what you need for the post or reply, and leave out ID numbers, bank details and anything private. For that content we act on your behalf.

8. How long we keep it

Waitlist details: until Stoep Link opens, or 12 months at most, or until you ask us to delete them.
Your work in the tool: in your browser until you delete it or clear your browser data.
Server logs and AI processing: for the short periods our providers keep them.

9. Cookies and browser storage

We use your browser's storage to save your work and to remember your beta access code. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections, keeping our AI access key on the server and limiting beta access to invited agents. No online service is completely secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.

11. Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what information we hold about you;
correct it or delete it;
stop using it, or withdraw a consent you gave us.

Email info@stoeplink.co.za. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, which does not affect what we did before you withdrew it. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we aim to reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

12. Emails

We only email you about Stoep Link, such as when it opens. Every email will tell you how to opt out, and you can also ask us to stop at any time.

13. Children

Stoep Link is for working professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

14. Changes

We will update this policy if what we do changes, for example when we add accounts or paid plans. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will email the address you gave us. This policy is governed by the laws of South Africa.
